If You Lost A Pet
Call the shelter to report that your pet is lost. The staff keeps a lost & found log. You will need to check the shelter and lost and found log daily for your pet. Since animal descriptions are subjective, it is best for owners to come to the shelter in person. You can also check the newspaper, craigslist.com and petfinder.com. There is a bulletin board in the shelter for lost animal ads/pictures. The shelter holds each animal for 3 business days to give the owners a chance to claim their pet. The animal is then put up for adoption. The shelter can only accept cash when claiming your pet. Please see below for city ordinance/impound fee. Each city varies. In rare cases, an animal may be gently euthanized due to aggression or severe injury or illness.
